Rules & Prize













RULES



 

1) The competition will take place entirely via video. The commission will evaluate the evidence presented on video by each of the participants and will assign an evaluation based solely/only on the performance sent. Three prizes (first prize, second prize and third prize) will be awarded to the candidates who gets the highest score.




2) Candidates may not contact any member of the jury until the competition has ended and the prizes awarded. Feedback on their performance will be provided to those who apply. Any violation of this rule will result in elimination from the competition.




3) Candidates will be able to publish their videos on the following platforms: YouTube, Youku.




4) Entries including video links must be sent to the address ...... no later than 30 September 2021. No applications will be accepted after this date.




5) The competition has  different age groups for Solo Performance ( with Video duration limit ): 


 

Group A   age 6-8:      born on or after 1st September 2013. - Max 5 min

Group B   age 9-11:     born on or after 1st September 2010.  - Max 10 min 

Group C   age 12-14:   born on or after 1st September 2007. - Max 15min 

Group D   age 15-17:   born on or after 1st September 2004. - Max 15min 

Group E   age 18-20:   born on or after 1st September 2001.  - Max 20min 

Group F    age 21 - 24:  born on or after 1st September 1997 - Max 20min

Group G   age  25+:   born on or before 1st September 1996. - Max 20min



For Cello camber music( with Video duration limit ) : 


Under 12 Years Old:up to 5 min

13-17 Years Old: up to 8 min

18-25 Years Old: up to 15 min

25 Years Old and Up: up to 20 min




6) The repertoire is free choice for all categories.



7) Regarding video files:

     - Each video must contain a piece. Candidates who present more pieces, will have to send separate videos for each piece presented.

     - The performances must be presented without editing or cuts and must have the original audio of the place where the recording takes place.

     - The video recording must be fixed and with a resolution of no less than 720P. Candidate's hands and face must be clearly seen.

     - There must be no voice presentations, video post production and mixing.

     


8) The three winners will have the obligation to participate in the post-competition interview and planned activities.




9) The candidates of the MICC Milano International Cello Competition authorize MICC organizers to use the images and videos for the purposes of the competition and any advertising and promotional purposes and renounce any material compensation relating to the aforementioned activities.



10)  The judges of the competition selectively give comments and suggestions based on the students' performance.

The winner of the first prize will have the opportunity to perform as a soloist with a chamber orchestra within the planned post-competition activities.


At the discretion of the commission, Special Mentions may be assigned to some deserving candidates who will have the opportunity to receive scholarships for masterclasses organized by the Competition Organization for the year 2022.
